Then there is an American by the name of Fernand Petiot that bartended in Paris. He is the one known to have added the Worcestershire, pepper, and Tobasco to the Bloody Mary cocktail. It was suggested that the spicy cocktail be called Bloody Mary from the previously mentioned club, the Bucket of Blood, because it was like a drink that would have been derived from such a rowdy bar.

Vodka Bloody Mary Cocktail Recipe

2 oz. vodka
3 oz. tomato juice
1/2 oz. lemon juice
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
2 drops Tabasco sauce hint of salt hint of black pepper

You can combine all the ingredients, and mix with a shaker that is filled with ice. Then use a strainer and serve in a high ball glass filled with ice. The Bloody Mary drink is garnished with celery or a wedge of lemon. Keep in mind that the better the quality of ingredients you choose to put in your Bloody Mary, the better the drink will become.

Different Ways To Make The Bloody Mary

As with any cocktail, the Bloody Mary can be made in variations of the original recipe. Different people and bartenders will make them according to their own preference and spins. You can now utilize the various flavored vodkas available to enhance the flavor. Instead of plain tomato juice, you can use the various types of vegetable juices on the market. Use lemon juice instead of lime, leave out the Tobasco or add horseradish for a bigger kick. You can even have this drink minus the alcohol content.
